Growing Disciples for Jesus Christ – Christian Education at Chatham UMC

The mission of Chatham United Methodist Church is “transforming lives and growing disciples for Jesus Christ.”  If you’ve ever wondered how we do that, come check out the Christian Education ministry!  We are growing disciples from cradle to college, and we would love to include you!

During the Summer months, the K-8 children’s classes are combined into a “One-Room Schoolhouse” model (by Deep Blue Kids).  Through video, games and other activities, our children learn together about the loving God who walks with them every day!  Teachers and helpers are needed to help our children grow – please talk to Lisa Young at church or email mryoungky@yahoo.com.  We will also be looking for 4-6 teachers each week for our fall Sunday School lineup; see Lisa, or Michael Ferguson if you are interested.  Feel free to come visit us any Sunday to see how easy and fun it is to work with our kids!

In Committee news: The Education Committee thanks Melissa Slife (Education co-chair) for her excellent service this year, and bids her family farewell and Godspeed as they move to Rockford, IL.  We thank Lisa Young for stepping up as “double co-chair” this summer.  New leadership and fresh ideas are needed this fall… if you’ve been “waiting for a sign” to get involved – this is it!  Talk to Michael Ferguson or Pastor Sara for more information.
