New GenerationsMark your calendars for this very special weekend event! The New Generation Singers, a group of extraordinarily talented high school and college students from Ashland United Methodist Church in St. Joseph, Missouri, is coming our way July 15-16 to share their exciting and inspirational performance.

The New Generation Singers will be heading out on their annual choir tour – and this year, we are on their itinerary! The group has traveled across the U.S. and Canada, bringing their message of hope and faith to delighted audiences and churches.

From their website: ( “Founded as a “youth choir” in 1970, they have become a “youth group” that sings and uses their music as a vehicle to spread God’s message. They have grown into an internationally recognized group representing many denominations and beliefs. They are a multi-racial, multi-ethnical, multi-talented group of faith and energy driven singers and players.“

Sat., July 15 they will present their full program in the Chatham UMC sanctuary. We get to host them overnight as a “thank you” for their performance: hosts are asked to feed them supper, provide a comfy place for 2-8 teens to sleep, get them breakfast in the morning, and “get them to the church on time!”

Sun., July 16 they will offer worship music in both the 8:15 and 10:45 services before hitting the road again and heading east.

If you are willing to open your home for the night as a host family, please contact Pastor Sara or Michael Ferguson for details.
