Everyone should give whatever they have decided in their hearts. They shouldn’t give with hesitation or because of pressure. God loves a cheerful giver.  –2 Corinthians 9:7

On May 7, our congregation will celebrate Commitment Sunday

This is a day when members and friends of Chatham UMC prayerfully commit to giving a certain amount of money to church operations over the coming year.

Your pledges provide a framework for all we do with missions and outreach, care for the congregation, worship, music, youth, Sunday School, and study groups.

The operations budget keeps the doors open, the staff paid, and the lights on.

Commitment Sunday is a cause for celebration because our congregation gives generously to share the gospel and care for people inside and outside the walls of the church.

freeman-bobOur special speaker on May 7 is Rev. Robert Freeman, a pastor, preacher, evangelist, and visionary leader who believes his purpose is to demonstrate God’s love for the transformation of the world.

Rev. Freeman is a dynamic pastor and teacher who serves Kumler and Grace UMCs in Springfield.

Watch your mail and the Circuit Rider Weekly for more details about this special Sunday service, and begin to pray about your pledge to Chatham UMC for the coming year.
