Michael Ferguson  |  Youth & Children’s Minister

We are off to a fantastic start and raised $7,000 from our first Frozen Meals Pack Fundraiser to go toward the mission trip! Your support in helping our young people with these trips is staggering!

Your youth will be going to the Cumberland Mountains of Tennessee to work at Mountain T.O.P. (Tennessee Outreach Project).

Mission Trip Dates:

Senior High
entering 9th grade – graduates
June 24 – July 1

Jr. High
entering 7th and 8th grade
July 4 – July 8

A very special “Thanks” goes out to Sadie Jones for her efforts toward the fundraiser: selecting the recipes, calculating the quantities required for all the meals, organizing the preparation and keeping everyone busy and on task!

One more special “Thanks” goes to Angela Anderson and Celebrations Catering for the use of their coolers and the refrigerated truck! Without these, our goal would be nearly impossible!

We also want to provide a few numbers that will help tell the story of the time and effort put in by our youth and their families in order to make this a success.

  • 24 Cases of Chicken Breasts
  • 240 lbs of Ground Beef
  • 252 lbs of Beef Roast
  • 126 lbs of Pork Loin
  • 84 lbs of Ground Turkey

Way too many sauces, spices, noodles, and other stuff to start listing!

Approximately 600 volunteer hours in a four day period!

When we look at the numbers, we realize that the mission trip has already begun and it does not just include the youth who will climb in a van this summer, but each person who participates in a fundraiser (selling or buying), offers a word of encouragement, or says a prayer.  You are a part of this mission! We have not quite covered our cost at Mountain T.O.P. and still have van rental, gas, and additional expenses to go.

Be sure to watch for the next Frozen Meals Pack sale in April! This next Frozen Meal Sale will include Spring and Summer items for grilling  or the oven.
